Today's been good :)

Hi friends,

Today was pretty good. I feel kinda good today. Reasons:
1. Finished my Science ASSessment book! :)
2. Free from piano!:)
3. Mind your Body newspaper out. :)
4. Had half a snowman bun from breadtalk. :)
5. The ultimate reason for happiness: I FOUND THE BLOGS OF MANY OF MY EX-SCHOOL'S FRIENDS!! Yeah, all my uber-cool, beloved pals from Princess E! I was not going to pass this chance up. I linked as many friends as I could. Jerlyn, Eugenia, Jia Feng, Joey, Grace C, Jin Qi, Gena and Jia Xuan!! WHOOOOO! Thanks, Xin Ying, for providing me with Pamela's blog. Through her blog I sniffed out all my friends' blogs!! Totally cool. Owe you one!

I was so excited that I started jumping from blog to blog, hopeful to find my friends! I typed eager messages in the cbox and moved from one blog to another. Zoom zoom zoom. I wanted to link Grace Xin (yeah, 2 friends with my name! That's so cool!)
but somehow the navigation links on her blog didn't work. Could not access her blog, cbox, whatever. Sad. :( I like her so much. *sniff*

I am going crazy with all my precious finds!! Now I just want to say to all my PEPS friends that I remember you and I love you all! Miss you guys, let's organise a reunion someday, okay?

That's all for now, byes~

WAIT! Don't forget to vote in my poll people, we are running out of days!!

time. Time. TIME. TIME!!!!!!!

Hi friends,

I have 3 words to say. Just 3 words. But it packs a whole lot of punch. I hate time. I HATE TIME!! Just yesterday, I was visiting my relatives for Chinese New Year. Right now, I am diving headfirst into this sea of books I could probably drown in. Tomorrow, it would be Christmas and New Year. And then, ta-dah, the dirty 4-letter word will smack you full force in the face. You know that word. We all do.

Things are just going too fast for me, you and everybody. It's like the speed of those race cars that daredevils drive. It's just that this race car I'm in is different. I'm not even driving. It's driving itself. I don't want to be a daredevil when it comes to time, but somehow time is forcing me to be one. A very unwilling one.

Talk about time, it's amazing. Too amazing for our good. Just last Wednesday, I was cowering under the sofa, and I was like staring at the door until the parts swirled up and turned into a blur. No, no, please, don't ring... And then this horrible sound suddenly goes off and I stifle a scream. My piano teacher is here!! Help!

Now, its just less than 24 hours before my teacher steps in tomorrow. It's so fast! The dreaded time of the week is here in the blinking of an eye. Poof.

There doesn't seem to be enough time to study. Not enough time to practice piano. Not enough time before my violin exam takes the form of a fist and punches me squarely in the face. NOOO!!!

I hate time. Don't you?

Cheers

Whoosh. A day just slipped by.

Hi friends,

Today, I did 3 PSLE papers! English, Science and Maths! Okay, Maths one question left...but who cares anyway. I am pretty okay with English and Science but the last few questions for Maths are slightly a killer, so I had to take a break. I don't think I can do very well for Maths either. But again, I don't care. I still have a year to tackle it, so no sweat. Hopefully, I can hit 90. That's all I want. 90 for each subject will earn me a beloved 270. I am expecting something like a 260-265 on the real day, though.

I had piano lesson today and as usual, I stumble over the same notes, falter at the same songs, equals I learnt nothing today. Sigh. I don't like piano that much when I am under the pressure of my teacher and I hate theory even more. Somehow these 2 don't seem to get along with me that well. At least, not as well as violin. :)

Now, for the highlights of this post: Ta-dah, the king of all pigsties! I mean, study tables.

Doesn't my study table look awesome??!! I love it! And no, I DID NOT purposely mess it up, it was already like that when I took the pic. Try identifying as many objects as possible!! Speaking of which, I woke up today to find out that someone had tidied my table for me. But it doesn't matter, I messed it up again! ;)

Now who dares to challenge my study table? If you think yours is better than mine, send me an attachment! My email is: lihan18@yahoo.com

Haha!!

Another day. sigh.

Hi friends,

I am very desperate now. I want to write a story but I have no ideas! The last one I wrote was like, 7 months ago? Or maybe 6. Or 5. I don't care. I want to write a story and I am tearing my hair out thinking of one!! ARGH!!!!!!!! Potential writers out there eg.An Yee, Siew Rong, Mingrou etc. PLEASE HELP ME, I BESEECH YOU, any kind soul out there???

Anyway, I didn't do much today, just revised my P4 and P5 stuff plus undergo a Math overload. Okay its not really an overload, but I don't know what word to use. I made a friend online blogging too, just like how I made friends with Ayn. I have two new friends: Siew Rong and Ayn, seems like blogging is a good way to make friends, especially if in the same school!!

What else did I do? I don't know. I went into a blogging frenzy, played a tune on my inflatable guitar (I have now hung it up by the window!) took a picture of my pigsty-like study table (which I will post soon!) and coloured my assessment book (a therapeutic but dumb activity). Maybe I should clear my study table, it looks horrendous, totally unruly and in short, it is an eyesore. Not to me. To my family members. To me, the table is perfectly fine, but to others, it needs a serious operation. I have been nagged at to tidy up but I don't think tidying up ever works. Why? Because I just tidied up a few days ago and now it looks worse than before. I guess tidiness is not in me. I can try a thousand times and I will always be messy. To me, messy is the way to go. With all that organising, I forget where I put my stuff, and I find it irritating to put it back because I don't know where to put it, just leaving it where it is on my table seems pretty convenient. I'm messy and I'm proud of it. :) Will post pic soon!

I have to go for Math home tuition by my dad now, byes

Monotonously going through the day

Hi friends,

I guess this is the last time I will blog on a boring day. Because there doesn't seem to be anything to blog about...

1. I did my LEAD homework for a verry looong time. I HATE LEAD HOMEWORK, I declare.
2. A dead insect was floating in my drink during lunchtime, so my dad and I swapped drinks. :)
3. Coloured some pics in my assessment book. (Yes, I know you think I must be mad to do such a stupid thing. But the pics look rather plain...)
4. Did a plan of holiday organising so that I won't waste my time. *sigh* Plan starts tomorrow...

And please, vote on my poll!!!

P6 graduation over!!! Whoosh

Hi friends,

Yesterday was the P6 graduation. And a very loooong one at that because speeches are both done in English AND Chinese. I suppose the speakers must be having a very hard time! Especially for the Chinese part.

Anyway, I did my violin performance today. Thank goodness, the mike worked perfectly. The performance wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, in fact just a little better than the shitty song I was telling you about. Maybe the cat wailed a little softer and maybe the poop was not so deep. But other than that it should be almost the same. Speaking of violin, I had to perform solo for Auld Lang Syne because Ng Way didn't come, I think she's sick or something. Anyway, I can't believe nobody threw rotten eggs.

There was supposed to be a play at the end, too bad I had not stayed back to watch it. Last year, I did. It was something about a girl who thought her life was wasted because she did badly in PSLE. This year I didn't know what was it about, so sad. I missed the dance item by some hip-hoppers too. I saw it last year and thought they did quite well. The vid is currently on youtube. I hope someone will post this year's dance too.

Okay then, see ya

Prize giving ceremony!!!

Hi friends,

Today was the prize giving ceremony. Full stop? er, no.

Firstly, I am on cloud nine (perhaps even cloud 10??) because I have managed to end this year by achieving my new year resolution. I got top in English. :) Now, my new aim is to stay that way next year. I know there's a tough competition, but I know what I want.

Now, on to the ceremony-the highest in GEP is Bingjian (who clinched top in Math and Science too!!!)and Danson(top in social studies, wow) and they actually draw at a stunning score of 441/500!!! I got...406. :'(. I don't believe that such a score is possible, but it is. And that mark is so much higher than the highest in my class with a score of 427. Still, that's a cool score compared to mine. Now, all I want is to stay on top. I may get disappointed-badly-but at least I can try.

I made some new friends too, with the Primary 4 kids sitting next to me. Aww, they were so cute, arguing and complaining and making me take sides, lol. The two friends I made both received the sturdy and studious award which i think is absolutely beautiful, looks like a dark blue diamond pyramid.

There were two people performing to entertain the audience during the interludes. First interlude there was Jingzhe playing te chinese flute and gosh, that piece was so stunning! He played the piece with passion, expression and produced a wonderful piece of music. The second interlude was a solo song by Jerrie Liao and I loved her song even more. It was Somewhere Out There and she sang a very high pitched range. I loved her performance, it was very emotional and expressive. Wish she could sing again.

Tomorrow it will be my turn to perform violin with Zhexuan. *gasp* I hate the mike. Wish me luck!

And Miss Gillian has been really nice, she gave me an inflatable guitar as a reward! ;) I like it so much, I can't go through the day without playing a "tune"!

DON'T GO TO MARINA BARRAGE!!! Unless you can fish or something, And you got to have your own car but I discourage driving as it pollutes air.

Hi friends,

I went to the Marina Barrage yesterday and it was nothing like what was described in the newspapers. It SUCKED! Okay fine, to be fair, the reason why it wasn't very fun was perhaps due to the fact that we didn't surf, swim, fish, play in the mini pool, fly a kite or have a picnic. We went there merely to have a look at the scenery. But it sucked. Rather, the journey did, not the scenery. The scenery wasn't good enough to pay for all the shortcomings, what I meant.

Firstly, we had to wait for half an hour for a shuttle bus to take us there from the MRT station. Half an hour! Plus, we were lining up opposite a construction site and a busy road where the air was polluted with clouds of smoke coming from a thousand trucks with cement. Yuck. Here's a photo (copy and paste as url):

file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00034.JPG
file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00035.JPG

When we finally reached, we decided to walk the whole slope that sloped up and we did pass by some people having fun because of their activities. We had nothing to do so we walked all the way up and down again. But the walk up was incredibly long enough to tire your legs. Very good for NAPFA tests. Just run two rounds and you can die. Check out the photos. We took a pic of half the slope(btw we were standing on the slope so we couldn't take the whole slope)as well as some features of the barrage that was supposed to be fun but we didn't use them.

file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00073.JPG
file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00050.JPG
file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00060.JPG
If you are wondering what the last photo is it's a jetty.

After the walk we were kinda hungry so we tried to find a place for dinner but there was only a small cafe that was already packed so we headed towards the gallery first. If there was anything really good, this had to be it. At least we learnt something. We learned how the barrage works as well as learn a bit about the solar panels. We viewed lots of interesting stuff at the gallery too. But the explanation about how the barrage works is really long, so I will just post a pic of the demonstration. If you are really curious on how it works then let me know and I will write the explanation out. Basically the pic shows how water from the reservoir is transferred to the sea to prevent flooding.

file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00079.JPG

Here's the solar panel park pic:

file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00070.JPG

When we left the gallery we were starving but when we went to the cafe it was still fully packed. Urgh. The sky was darkening and we were really hungry so we left. We missed a bus so we had to wait another half an hour. Left with nothing to do, I tried memorising car plate numbers.

After what seemed like eternity a bus arrived and we entered with relief. The bus was packed but thank goodness, we got a seat. Then we saw this cute li'l boy who had no seat, so I squeezed with my mum in one seat and the boy sat on the other.

We rejoiced when the bus brought us to the MRT station at last. We rode the MRT to City Hall and tried to find a place to eat. We went to Raffles City shopping mall but the food was expensive and the food court closed for renovation. So we walked down the street passing by different shops. My mum was against eating fast food so we dragged ourselves past fast food restaurants. After some time we finally found a shop my mum was agreeable with and we went in for some sandwiches and cake.

We then took a bus and we were on it for 1 HOUR AND 20 MINUTES! Wow. We passed by my mother's primary school! It's now no longer a school but a church. (the primary school was a catholic one)

Okay, maybe I was exaggerating on the first paragraph about how it sucked, but I say the whole thing can be improved if they put more buses in the shuttle bus service and put more shops...

Sorry for being away for so long, got no time...

Hi friends,

Sorry for my long disappearance but I was kinda occupied. Anyway today was voting day for the recycling bins, and total I only received 17 votes. T_T Some pair (I think it was Mervin's?) actually got hundred plus votes, while my neighbour had 86...AND I GOT A MISERABLE 17!!!!! Worst thing is, Miss Gillian didn't want to vote for ours, say ours has only one concept and the way we phrase it is easily misunderstood. Waaaah. :( Part of the reason why we stopped at 17, I think, is because after we reached that number we stopped rallying. We didn't find any meaning in losing our voices, wasting our time and knowing we won't win. Sigh...what a waste of our precious time just to hit 2 hours of CIP! Last year, we picked litter at a beach and that is so much more meaningful!

Anyway Mrs Tan was giving out little letter writing packs to those who did well in SS and we could choose. They consisted of 4 pieces of writing paper, 4 fake stamps and 2 envelopes. I saw a blue one with a really cute pic of a puppy at the corner and I wanted to take it but somebody booked it before me and I had to let him have that. Still, I didn't really mind. I got a pink one but I don't care about the colour, I only care about the innocent looking pic of a different not-as-cute-but-still-cute puppy at the corner. The stamps that come along are not real stamps, but I intend to make them usable by adding double sided tape at the back. :)

I have taken a sudden interest in the childish glittery hair accessories I used to doll up my hair in. I am currently trying to make a special arrangement with them and will take a pic when I'm done...I will name it the Hairclip Parade. Might even upload it here! This is my second attempt as I did my first attempt on the bed and my dad who was sleeping accidentally knocked down the entire arrangement and he didn't know. Now I am doing the arranging on a sturdy table and it won't go wrong again, I guess.

CIP and an inspriring poem

Hi friends,
I just want to start off by telling you about a classmate who wrote a very inspiring poem that impressed me. I want you to read the poem and guess:

At midnight, it is pitch dark
There is nobody around
Even as I strain my ears
I can hear no sound.
Feeling boredom and emptiness
I wish to be reassured.
Even by the slightest wind,
Or the twitters of a bird.
When suddenly I see it right
A glisten that will heal me
That lights up my empty heart
The only hope it will be
The midnight star regenerates me
With all the wishes deserted
All is well and back to truth
And my true thoughts were heard.
I must thank you, sincerely
Midnight star of my dreams
You stand out in the sooty black
As your silver coat gleams.
Midnight star,
You understand my true feelings
Midnight Star,
You will guide my dreams.

I was extremely impressed. If you want to know, the author is An Yee. You can find more cool stuff on her fantaasy blog.

Anyway, today was the day of the CIP project on-the-spot competition and it was crazy! Everybody was like running up and down the corridor and frenziedly throwing paint and cut-outs onto the recycle bins. I tried drawing hello kitty on the box, and it looked totally different from the original pic I copied...

We finished in time, much to my surprise. Ruijun and I were drawing cutting pasting writing and screaming inside us. Some of our friends were painting and I don't think they had an easy time. But the end product was cool! I admired several artworks that were simply artistic. Judging by the way things are going, mine won't be shortlisted. But I don't quite mind, I have never been good at art.

The theme for my recycling bin was Yu-gi-oh on one side for the boys and Hello Kitty for the girls. LMAO the end product looked kinda weird but I am satisfied. It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would be and I was even kinda pleased.

I realised that I could not enjoy my Wednesday holiday. T_T I have to edit and assign a great pile of articles for the school newsletter and I'm so going to faint. It's due in 2 days time and I have to rush. Argh. Some don't even check their emails?! Plus my father's planned study schedule for tomorrow, looks like I will have a bad day. T_T

Blearrh. B-O-R-I-N-G day

Hi friends,

Firstly, I want you to check out the new hangman game I've added to the blog. Play for fun.

I didn't think there was anything worth blogging about today but since I'm bored, well...? Basically it's been a fruitless day. Not really. We did get our portfolio results back, 24/28!! Yay...been thinking of a 20! I am not sure but I think the higest is full marks...wow! I think is Josiah. Not very sure. Anyway I finally found out who got a full marks, it's Delvin. Blew me off my feet man, that's an impossible (well almost) score!

Science project was a failure as usual...

Chinese lesson chen lao shi actually gave us a chinese paper! Hey, the exams are supposed to be over, what are we doing with another useless one? I wanted to quickly finish and play scrabble with the others cos Nigel brought a Scrabble board! So anyway I was scribbling my work away like plain squiggling. My handwriting was like a bunch of incorrigible weeds sprouting and sprouting. I didn't check my work either and thus some of my answers were not quality ones, but it paid off anyway because I was the first to finish! :)

For CIP I wish I was not stuck with 3B. I'd rather an older more matured class. Now, 3B wants their recycling box covered with Duel Masters and Hello Kitty and I am wondering what I am going to do about that. Surfed the net anyway and found a couple of pics. lol the hello kitty pics were so cute.

Going for sci+math trail on thursday, looking forward to that! Except for insects, especially butterflies. I am against butterflies, they are so ugly and big and worst of all: SCARY. Ugh. But we are having a picnic there and that rocks.

Now I have nothing to say...so I'm going to think of something. If I am boring you, pardon me. You can go post a comment at the cbox or something. If not, read on.

I am so going to die waiting for my report book. I am so excited, I hope that I win a prize for the best in English, I have been pinning my hopes on getting a prize! So disappointing if I don't get it. Ever since I entered GEP my studies kinda dropped and I only have English to pull myself up.

Going to Genting in December...waiting for my well deserved break!

Cheers

Update on later hours of the day, as I promised...didn't go very well either

Hi friends,

As I promised I am updating on the hours after my theory exam. Mainly, my violin lesson. And yes, it sucked, if you are wondering. Not too long ago I said that the piece I was preparing sounded like a howling cat and a wailing bat drowning in a pile of fresh deep crap. Today, after my teacher drowned me in an avalanche of advice on how I could play better, I realised that it sucked more than I thought. Now, imagine what I used to describe my playing and add the sound of a beheaded chicken trying to swim. Yeah, go on and imagine.

The teacher said that I had a lot of intonation and expression problems.

"No,first note short, then LONG! then get shorter..."
I play...
"NO, you never play the second note longer, its too short!"
Followed by a headless chicken trying to swim squawking...
"NOOO, I told you that the second note must be LONG!"

"That D is out of tune. Try again."
Howling cat and wailing bat drowning in fresh deep crap, nice chocolate brown...
"No, its still out of tune."
Blah blah blah...
"No..."
isudhvfwkethgn;tekjng...
"Still out of tune, must hear the note and remember carefully the position!"

Sigh. Don't get me wrong, she's a good teacher. She was not scolding me but telling me nicely. And her voice was hoarse and hard to hear, so she was like trying to force the words out, thus the exclamation marks. If you are reading this now, (violin teacher), i am thanking you.

Looks like I have a lot to work on now. Sorry if I bored you. If you have time, do see this vid cos it's pretty funny:
