It's 2009!!!

Hi friends,

Heyhey, this is my first post of 2009, happy new year everybody!!!! The reason why I had been Mia-ing for so long is because I had been having fun with my cousin who came to stay with us!! We were like, playing DS so madly!! I loved it...but she left yesterday. T.T

Now, for my resolutions of 2009!! (P.S. I allow myself to break some of the rules on the 1st of Jan because I'm still getting used!! :P) If you realise some of them are kind of ambitious...may have to stretch to another year. Never mind. Out of 12 resolutions last year, I only fulfilled 3...

1. Get top in English for the whole year overall (I have lots of competitors!)
2. Get 260-270 for PSLE (Hmmm? It would be good to hit 258...then hit 260 with Higher Chinese! ;P)
3. Get 3 star pupil badge (I increase one star every year)
4. Do things QUICKLY and efficiently...with NO mistakes!!! (Ever took 1hr 30 mins to eat dinner? Or 4hrs to do one worksheet? And still make careless mistakes? I daydream too much)
5. Do skipping everyday, 5-10 mins (I barely scraped my NAPFA test)
6. Study the Bible more regularly (I spend very little time doing so)
7. Do very well in Science, Maths and HCL! (Maths and Science below average, HCL not as good as I would like it to be)
8. Get the Suzuki Solo Performer position (This means that I have to do better than others in the test. While playing the song that sounds like a howling cat and a wailing bat drowning in a pile of fresh deep crap that I told you about: La Folia! The one where the exam was shifted to 18 Jan)T_T
9. Spend less than half an hour on the com everyday when school starts with the exception of school work, checking email and public/school holidays.
10. Be a good girl. (I have been very naughty this year. Would you believe me if I told you I had a mini water fight on the school bus once? And I had been a little too proud too)
11. Study more and efficiently.

That's my list in all... Happy new year and All the best in fulfilling your resolutions!!!

P.S. I shall vanish from here from tomorrow onwards...I may not do more than reply tags...I will not visit blogs nor update unless I have a good reason to do so or it's the weekends...so byebye. See you on a weekend!!

Cheers

Merry Christmas!!!...

Hi friends,

Merry Christmas. Merry Christmas!! And a happy new year. Whatever. Enjoy your holidays which are ending pretty soon. Soon we'll be back in school. Maybe it's a good thing, maybe it's not. Never mind. For all I know, the worst thing about school reopening is: not being able to get used to the flow of another year at school. But how bad can it get, when you've got friends, jokes, plenty of humour and lots of fun with your friends. Instead of sitting around the house so wu liao. Sit in front of the computer, sit in front of my table, everyday is the same. Sigh.

So Merry Christmas once again, with well wishes for 2009. All the best for a new year, regardless whether you are heading to a new secondary school, or facing P6. Or P5. Never mind.

A card does make Christmas nicer too. I just received a Christmas card from my buddy in Japan. She is sweet. Although I have only been talking to her for the few days I met her in Japan, she still remembers me. She actually learnt English so that she could communicate with me in Japan plus write this card in English! Here's the card:

I sent her a card in reply.

That's about it. Merry Christmas buddy.

Cheers

P.S. I want to kick Maths in the ass. When I do Maths there is a 200% chance that I will make at least 5 mistakes. Like today.

Photos!!

Hi friends,

Today there will be photos and a little extra stuff that I forgot to say in the last post. My brother had picked up an interesting habit while he was there. You know what it was (but he dropped it the minute we returned :()? It was picking dandruff from my hair! It's funny, but things get hilarious when my brother does it! He would go "Ah, I see a harvest field here!" and "OOI don't move!! You see lah I lost it!" and "Aiyah today got crisis leh why your hair so clean today?!". He took a picture of my hair but deleted it later because he could not find any dandruff. :P But seriously, he did keep my hair rather clean during those days. Haha!!

P.S. I did not go theme park, because...we didn't want to?

PhOtOs!!

This is Kookies&Kream! Kute right?

The Christmas Choir!! Their singing is awesome!!

The view from my hotel room. Shiok!!

Santa Claus, my family and the extra pretty lady that Santa ran away with! LOL

That's my brother trying to snap a shot of me when my dad was taking a picture of me. In the end he got snapped into the photo too. He always does that;when my photo was about to be taken he would go "wait ah wait!!" and snap just in time. I remember when I would try to pose in funny angles to escape him and he would snap his photos in funny angles. Haha! But anyway all deleted...

Yummy yummy cupcakes!!

My brother the model! Hehe. My mum says he looked good in this pic!

Shopping at the PONEY clothes fair. :(

My bro and I in front of the Mongolian Fair.

Bro, mum and I in front of the Christmas Tree at the Resort Check-in. If you look carefully my brother's hand is right behind my head, ready to give me a good whack. Lol!

And that's about it...MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!!

Huuray! I'm back!

Hi friends,

HoorayI'mbackhoorayi'mbackhoorayI'mbackhoorayI'mback...
20 minutes later
Hey guess what? Hooray I'm back!! Haha. I'm so glad to be back in S'pore, to return chatting with all of you on yahoo!, to reunite my hands with my computer after they had been relinquished from my beloved computer for so long!! Okay, enough crapping. My trip has been sucky and cool at the same time. Confused? Okay, I'm going tell you the sucky bits first. xian ku hou tian.

Firstly, Genting gave my brother and I 3 "presents". Runny nose, sore throat and cough. *aacck* I have gotten rid of the sore throat soon enough, thank goodness, but my cough and runny nose is going to plague me for some time. My bro hacked like mad.

Secondly, my bro and dad got to sleep in the hotel while I had to follow my mum to go shopping!!! That's because my dad started complaining, brother started yawning and when my mum gave my bro a pink shirt to try he tried it, said he didn't like it and fled when my mum was not aware. So I went around trying clothes and came back with 3 tops and 3 bottoms. Not too bad. Last time bought the whole shop. lol.

Thirdly, I got a bit dizzy halfway ALWAYS through breakfast.(Lunch and dinner okay.) And I felt like throwing up whenever I pass by the SWEET foods like doughnuts, so I didn't eat them. Here's a bit of advice: next time you feel dizzy either eat porridge, yogurt, fruit or all 3, like me. Speaking of which, once I was eating siew mai and the SWEETNESS of the prawn flooded my mind and I could hear nothing except a voice telling me "If you eat that you will throw up" and I could not bring myself to swallow it so guess what I did? I spit the mushy mess into my glass of juice and blocked the glass with tissue. In the end my mum discovered. Sigh.

Now for the good bits! Firstly my mum bought me a soft toy cow that came with a little pouch of chocs! I'm sorry that I forgot to buy you all presents, I will see if I can share a bit of chocolate. But main thing is the cow, so cute! Will post pic in another post, if not this post will be too long. I named the cow Kookies&Kream. Yum!

Secondly, there was a lot of Christmas caroling and man, that choir sure can sing. The best parts are the acapella songs, real nice! There's also a really chubby Santa Claus who walks around with this extra young and pretty lady to take photos and it seems like Santa betrayed his wife and eloped with some girl. KIDDING! Didn't mean that. My parents made me take photo with them too.

Thirdly, studying, music, boredom, anything worth worrying about was all gone from my mind! I wanted to escape from them, and I sure did!! Now, back to the old millstone... :( Waaah.

Lastly, this is not involved with Genting but it's still cool. I received a letter minutes after returning and the contents stated that my violin exam was...SHIFTED TO JANUARY 18!!! YOOHOOOOOO!!!!

What a lot I have written! I don't blame you if you didn't survive it all. Don't worry, next post consists of only pics!

It's On A MoNdAy!!!

Hi friends,

Guess what? It's On A MoNdAy!! My ticket to freedom from boredom is coming my way on this coming Monday!! YEAH, rock that! I will be in Genting from 15-19 December, so I will be missing in action then. Doesn't really matter anyway.

However, I have gone to Genting last year as well, in 2006 as well, in 2005 as well, in 2004 as well, in 2003 as well, in 2002 as well, and in 2001 as well. Yep, I go to Genting every year since I was 4! How cool is that! Er...I don't know...

anyway, can't wait to escape from the endless boredom here, I am going to soak up the Christmas atmosphere in Genting! Write my story(yeps I got an idea at last!!), study Twilight, play with my teddy bear! (the one in the dammit series) He's coming with me! And watch hours and hours of TV! The only part I dread is...shopping. I will be dragged out of the room while watching a fabulous show at its climax and sit around in changing rooms. T_T

However, amongst the joy, there has to be some pooper somewhere. You want to know what it is? Fine. I WILL BE HAVING MY SUZUKI VIOLIN EXAM ON THE 21st DECEMBER!!! AAAAH, save me!! That is one day after I return from my trip. I have to recover 5 days of practice in one day! Impossible!! I have to worry about that while in Genting. I wonder if I should bring my notes there...(I can't bring my violin)

Happy hols, pals. Enjoy it because it's ending in 3 weeks...T_T

Dammit!

Hi friends

I mean, it's a pretty simple phrase. Damn it! Damned! Damn whatever shit there is. This phrase is rather common in the dialogues of teens. They plant it all over their conversations. Squeeze it in wherever there is space. Have you ever wondered why? I am telling you, it because they have been reading too much and got influenced from young. Check this out people.

Saw it? Of course you did. It's in red. Okay, fine I know I am being lame, but I was kind of tickled by it. Actually that book came in a little package that I bought when I was younger, and actually it's kind of nice. The package only cost 3.90! So cheap! Check it out!

Yep, that's right, 3.90 only for a book and a soft toy package! It's a pretty good Christmas present for little kids, too! But I am NOT selling it okay? :P

Results

Hi friends,

At last, here is the moment you have been waiting for(or maybe not). Here is the answer to the first challenge. And the answer is...2.10! Congratulations William and Siew Rong(who certainly knew the answer)

I am a bit to impatient to wait for tomorrow so I am going to post the answer for Challenge 2. The answer is 200m/min. Guess it is not challenging enough for the math shifus or they are busy enjoying themselves with other fun stuff.

Those of you who absolutely detest Maths, don't worry. There are no more challenges. YAYYAYAY!

See stars? You are not alone

Hi friends,

Math Shifus out there, are you HUNGRY for more? Here's a harder one if you want it! Answer for previous question will be out tomorrow and answer for this question, out the day after! Try out the Math Challenge Number 2!

Two motorists, A and B, started travelling from the same end of a road at the same time. They were travelling in the same direction as a cyclist at a distance ahead. After travelling for 6 minutes, Motorist A over took the cyclist. Two minutes later, Motorist B overtook the same cyclist. Given that Motorist A and Motorist B travelled at an average speed of 1000m/min and 800m/min respectively, find the average speed of the cyclist.

Seeing stars? Don't worry, you are not alone. I was totally dazed at this awful question. But if this is a piece of cake to you, with whipped cream and icing, congratulations, please post your answer at the cbox. Awaiting your answer!!

I have been thrown the challenge. Throw a try!

Hi friends,

I was griping that the holidays were boring. My father heard that. Guess what that means? THIS. Check this question out people.

Town P and Town Q are 640 km apart. At 7.30 am, Mr Lim left Town P for Town Q. He travelled at an average speed of 60km/h. 4 hours later, Mr Muthu left Town Q for Town P travelling at an average speed of 90km/h. At what time did the two men pass each other?

So, now that the competition of the messy tables is over, now let's bring forth the challenge of this Math Question! If you think you've gotten it, you think the light bulb has lit up, you think it's clear as the bright daylight, POST IT AT THE CBOX! I shall publicise the answer from my beloved answer key in 3 days time.

You have 3 days. Don't hesitate to write your answer at the cbox. Put on your thinking cap NOW!

PEPS(I)

Hi friends,

You know, those times when you happen to think about some things subconsciously? You have no intention of thinking of them and when you are doing your own stuff you just think of it and sometimes you don't even know? Well, I was thinking about my old PEPS friends. Thinking.

Oh sure, I have got their blogs all right. I can chat with them online. But things are different, somehow. I remember when I visited PEPS on Teacher's Day. I saw my friends, a whole lot of them, and I smiled. But then somehow, the feeling isn't like in the times of Primary 3. There had been a fire, and it seems to have cooled down. Maybe a few sparks are left. I want to ignite the sparks, I want things to be just the way they used to be-but in an indescribable, unknown way, they are different.

I remember when news that I was leaving PEPS was spread. My friends were like "I thought you say you are not going/!" and "Why you must go leh?!" and I wondered, yah hor, why must I go leh, I don't want to go! But I went.

During my last few days there they were really sweet. I remember one scene very clearly, as clear as it happened yesterday. Maybe even clearer (after all, I forgot what I ate for lunch yesterday). Jia Feng gave me a bookmark as a present and somehow it looks a bit like a bubble-blower. So I gave to Grace Xin and just for fun I told her to "blow a bubble" and make a wish that would come true. (yes, I know that was childish!) She wished that I would not leave PEPS. But I did.

Some friends like Nur Atiqah who sat next to me in form class gave me a little pack of cards telling me that she would miss me. Others did the same, like Kassandra, etc. And Jerlyn was really nice. And the list of nice things goes on.

I miss PEPS from my friends and teachers to the tuna sandwiches at the canteen and the brightly painted toilets. (I remember there was this cubicle with a gigantic Minnie Mouse painted on it.)

A good thing is that some of my PEPS friends live near me, lie Gena and Edmond.

Luv ya, PEPS!

Check out this pic

Hi friends

I dread every day. Nothing interesting. Excitement of competition of the messy tables over. Boring. So, I have decided to show all of you a pic that I drew using the Paint program in my computer. Check this pic out.

Oh yeah I know it's a horrendous picture. You probably don't know what it is. I suck at drawing both freehand and using a computer. It's a clock that is being stabbed viciously with a knife. A sharp, glinting knife. It's bleeding. And it's dead!!! MWAHAHAHAHA!!!

I have to thank Ayn for this. She suggested something to "kill time" since I hate it so much. So here it is. I killed it. I am so evil. Mwahahaha.

I wish you all a brighter day. Save this pic in your com whenever you feel like time is betraying you. Hope it will make you feel better. On the other hand, if you find it absolutely disgusting and is an eyesore, tell me.

Today's been good :)

Hi friends,

Today was pretty good. I feel kinda good today. Reasons:
1. Finished my Science ASSessment book! :)
2. Free from piano!:)
3. Mind your Body newspaper out. :)
4. Had half a snowman bun from breadtalk. :)
5. The ultimate reason for happiness: I FOUND THE BLOGS OF MANY OF MY EX-SCHOOL'S FRIENDS!! Yeah, all my uber-cool, beloved pals from Princess E! I was not going to pass this chance up. I linked as many friends as I could. Jerlyn, Eugenia, Jia Feng, Joey, Grace C, Jin Qi, Gena and Jia Xuan!! WHOOOOO! Thanks, Xin Ying, for providing me with Pamela's blog. Through her blog I sniffed out all my friends' blogs!! Totally cool. Owe you one!

I was so excited that I started jumping from blog to blog, hopeful to find my friends! I typed eager messages in the cbox and moved from one blog to another. Zoom zoom zoom. I wanted to link Grace Xin (yeah, 2 friends with my name! That's so cool!)
but somehow the navigation links on her blog didn't work. Could not access her blog, cbox, whatever. Sad. :( I like her so much. *sniff*

I am going crazy with all my precious finds!! Now I just want to say to all my PEPS friends that I remember you and I love you all! Miss you guys, let's organise a reunion someday, okay?

That's all for now, byes~

WAIT! Don't forget to vote in my poll people, we are running out of days!!

time. Time. TIME. TIME!!!!!!!

Hi friends,

I have 3 words to say. Just 3 words. But it packs a whole lot of punch. I hate time. I HATE TIME!! Just yesterday, I was visiting my relatives for Chinese New Year. Right now, I am diving headfirst into this sea of books I could probably drown in. Tomorrow, it would be Christmas and New Year. And then, ta-dah, the dirty 4-letter word will smack you full force in the face. You know that word. We all do.

Things are just going too fast for me, you and everybody. It's like the speed of those race cars that daredevils drive. It's just that this race car I'm in is different. I'm not even driving. It's driving itself. I don't want to be a daredevil when it comes to time, but somehow time is forcing me to be one. A very unwilling one.

Talk about time, it's amazing. Too amazing for our good. Just last Wednesday, I was cowering under the sofa, and I was like staring at the door until the parts swirled up and turned into a blur. No, no, please, don't ring... And then this horrible sound suddenly goes off and I stifle a scream. My piano teacher is here!! Help!

Now, its just less than 24 hours before my teacher steps in tomorrow. It's so fast! The dreaded time of the week is here in the blinking of an eye. Poof.

There doesn't seem to be enough time to study. Not enough time to practice piano. Not enough time before my violin exam takes the form of a fist and punches me squarely in the face. NOOO!!!

I hate time. Don't you?

Cheers

Whoosh. A day just slipped by.

Hi friends,

Today, I did 3 PSLE papers! English, Science and Maths! Okay, Maths one question left...but who cares anyway. I am pretty okay with English and Science but the last few questions for Maths are slightly a killer, so I had to take a break. I don't think I can do very well for Maths either. But again, I don't care. I still have a year to tackle it, so no sweat. Hopefully, I can hit 90. That's all I want. 90 for each subject will earn me a beloved 270. I am expecting something like a 260-265 on the real day, though.

I had piano lesson today and as usual, I stumble over the same notes, falter at the same songs, equals I learnt nothing today. Sigh. I don't like piano that much when I am under the pressure of my teacher and I hate theory even more. Somehow these 2 don't seem to get along with me that well. At least, not as well as violin. :)

Now, for the highlights of this post: Ta-dah, the king of all pigsties! I mean, study tables.

Doesn't my study table look awesome??!! I love it! And no, I DID NOT purposely mess it up, it was already like that when I took the pic. Try identifying as many objects as possible!! Speaking of which, I woke up today to find out that someone had tidied my table for me. But it doesn't matter, I messed it up again! ;)

Now who dares to challenge my study table? If you think yours is better than mine, send me an attachment! My email is: lihan18@yahoo.com

Haha!!

Another day. sigh.

Hi friends,

I am very desperate now. I want to write a story but I have no ideas! The last one I wrote was like, 7 months ago? Or maybe 6. Or 5. I don't care. I want to write a story and I am tearing my hair out thinking of one!! ARGH!!!!!!!! Potential writers out there eg.An Yee, Siew Rong, Mingrou etc. PLEASE HELP ME, I BESEECH YOU, any kind soul out there???

Anyway, I didn't do much today, just revised my P4 and P5 stuff plus undergo a Math overload. Okay its not really an overload, but I don't know what word to use. I made a friend online blogging too, just like how I made friends with Ayn. I have two new friends: Siew Rong and Ayn, seems like blogging is a good way to make friends, especially if in the same school!!

What else did I do? I don't know. I went into a blogging frenzy, played a tune on my inflatable guitar (I have now hung it up by the window!) took a picture of my pigsty-like study table (which I will post soon!) and coloured my assessment book (a therapeutic but dumb activity). Maybe I should clear my study table, it looks horrendous, totally unruly and in short, it is an eyesore. Not to me. To my family members. To me, the table is perfectly fine, but to others, it needs a serious operation. I have been nagged at to tidy up but I don't think tidying up ever works. Why? Because I just tidied up a few days ago and now it looks worse than before. I guess tidiness is not in me. I can try a thousand times and I will always be messy. To me, messy is the way to go. With all that organising, I forget where I put my stuff, and I find it irritating to put it back because I don't know where to put it, just leaving it where it is on my table seems pretty convenient. I'm messy and I'm proud of it. :) Will post pic soon!

I have to go for Math home tuition by my dad now, byes

Monotonously going through the day

Hi friends,

I guess this is the last time I will blog on a boring day. Because there doesn't seem to be anything to blog about...

1. I did my LEAD homework for a verry looong time. I HATE LEAD HOMEWORK, I declare.
2. A dead insect was floating in my drink during lunchtime, so my dad and I swapped drinks. :)
3. Coloured some pics in my assessment book. (Yes, I know you think I must be mad to do such a stupid thing. But the pics look rather plain...)
4. Did a plan of holiday organising so that I won't waste my time. *sigh* Plan starts tomorrow...

And please, vote on my poll!!!

P6 graduation over!!! Whoosh

Hi friends,

Yesterday was the P6 graduation. And a very loooong one at that because speeches are both done in English AND Chinese. I suppose the speakers must be having a very hard time! Especially for the Chinese part.

Anyway, I did my violin performance today. Thank goodness, the mike worked perfectly. The performance wasn't as good as I wanted it to be, in fact just a little better than the shitty song I was telling you about. Maybe the cat wailed a little softer and maybe the poop was not so deep. But other than that it should be almost the same. Speaking of violin, I had to perform solo for Auld Lang Syne because Ng Way didn't come, I think she's sick or something. Anyway, I can't believe nobody threw rotten eggs.

There was supposed to be a play at the end, too bad I had not stayed back to watch it. Last year, I did. It was something about a girl who thought her life was wasted because she did badly in PSLE. This year I didn't know what was it about, so sad. I missed the dance item by some hip-hoppers too. I saw it last year and thought they did quite well. The vid is currently on youtube. I hope someone will post this year's dance too.

Okay then, see ya

Prize giving ceremony!!!

Hi friends,

Today was the prize giving ceremony. Full stop? er, no.

Firstly, I am on cloud nine (perhaps even cloud 10??) because I have managed to end this year by achieving my new year resolution. I got top in English. :) Now, my new aim is to stay that way next year. I know there's a tough competition, but I know what I want.

Now, on to the ceremony-the highest in GEP is Bingjian (who clinched top in Math and Science too!!!)and Danson(top in social studies, wow) and they actually draw at a stunning score of 441/500!!! I got...406. :'(. I don't believe that such a score is possible, but it is. And that mark is so much higher than the highest in my class with a score of 427. Still, that's a cool score compared to mine. Now, all I want is to stay on top. I may get disappointed-badly-but at least I can try.

I made some new friends too, with the Primary 4 kids sitting next to me. Aww, they were so cute, arguing and complaining and making me take sides, lol. The two friends I made both received the sturdy and studious award which i think is absolutely beautiful, looks like a dark blue diamond pyramid.

There were two people performing to entertain the audience during the interludes. First interlude there was Jingzhe playing te chinese flute and gosh, that piece was so stunning! He played the piece with passion, expression and produced a wonderful piece of music. The second interlude was a solo song by Jerrie Liao and I loved her song even more. It was Somewhere Out There and she sang a very high pitched range. I loved her performance, it was very emotional and expressive. Wish she could sing again.

Tomorrow it will be my turn to perform violin with Zhexuan. *gasp* I hate the mike. Wish me luck!

And Miss Gillian has been really nice, she gave me an inflatable guitar as a reward! ;) I like it so much, I can't go through the day without playing a "tune"!

DON'T GO TO MARINA BARRAGE!!! Unless you can fish or something, And you got to have your own car but I discourage driving as it pollutes air.

Hi friends,

I went to the Marina Barrage yesterday and it was nothing like what was described in the newspapers. It SUCKED! Okay fine, to be fair, the reason why it wasn't very fun was perhaps due to the fact that we didn't surf, swim, fish, play in the mini pool, fly a kite or have a picnic. We went there merely to have a look at the scenery. But it sucked. Rather, the journey did, not the scenery. The scenery wasn't good enough to pay for all the shortcomings, what I meant.

Firstly, we had to wait for half an hour for a shuttle bus to take us there from the MRT station. Half an hour! Plus, we were lining up opposite a construction site and a busy road where the air was polluted with clouds of smoke coming from a thousand trucks with cement. Yuck. Here's a photo (copy and paste as url):

file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00034.JPG
file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00035.JPG

When we finally reached, we decided to walk the whole slope that sloped up and we did pass by some people having fun because of their activities. We had nothing to do so we walked all the way up and down again. But the walk up was incredibly long enough to tire your legs. Very good for NAPFA tests. Just run two rounds and you can die. Check out the photos. We took a pic of half the slope(btw we were standing on the slope so we couldn't take the whole slope)as well as some features of the barrage that was supposed to be fun but we didn't use them.

file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00073.JPG
file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00050.JPG
file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00060.JPG
If you are wondering what the last photo is it's a jetty.

After the walk we were kinda hungry so we tried to find a place for dinner but there was only a small cafe that was already packed so we headed towards the gallery first. If there was anything really good, this had to be it. At least we learnt something. We learned how the barrage works as well as learn a bit about the solar panels. We viewed lots of interesting stuff at the gallery too. But the explanation about how the barrage works is really long, so I will just post a pic of the demonstration. If you are really curious on how it works then let me know and I will write the explanation out. Basically the pic shows how water from the reservoir is transferred to the sea to prevent flooding.

file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00079.JPG

Here's the solar panel park pic:

file:///C:/Users/Ng%20Koon%20Huat/Desktop/marina%20barrage/DSC00070.JPG

When we left the gallery we were starving but when we went to the cafe it was still fully packed. Urgh. The sky was darkening and we were really hungry so we left. We missed a bus so we had to wait another half an hour. Left with nothing to do, I tried memorising car plate numbers.

After what seemed like eternity a bus arrived and we entered with relief. The bus was packed but thank goodness, we got a seat. Then we saw this cute li'l boy who had no seat, so I squeezed with my mum in one seat and the boy sat on the other.

We rejoiced when the bus brought us to the MRT station at last. We rode the MRT to City Hall and tried to find a place to eat. We went to Raffles City shopping mall but the food was expensive and the food court closed for renovation. So we walked down the street passing by different shops. My mum was against eating fast food so we dragged ourselves past fast food restaurants. After some time we finally found a shop my mum was agreeable with and we went in for some sandwiches and cake.

We then took a bus and we were on it for 1 HOUR AND 20 MINUTES! Wow. We passed by my mother's primary school! It's now no longer a school but a church. (the primary school was a catholic one)

Okay, maybe I was exaggerating on the first paragraph about how it sucked, but I say the whole thing can be improved if they put more buses in the shuttle bus service and put more shops...

Sorry for being away for so long, got no time...

Hi friends,

Sorry for my long disappearance but I was kinda occupied. Anyway today was voting day for the recycling bins, and total I only received 17 votes. T_T Some pair (I think it was Mervin's?) actually got hundred plus votes, while my neighbour had 86...AND I GOT A MISERABLE 17!!!!! Worst thing is, Miss Gillian didn't want to vote for ours, say ours has only one concept and the way we phrase it is easily misunderstood. Waaaah. :( Part of the reason why we stopped at 17, I think, is because after we reached that number we stopped rallying. We didn't find any meaning in losing our voices, wasting our time and knowing we won't win. Sigh...what a waste of our precious time just to hit 2 hours of CIP! Last year, we picked litter at a beach and that is so much more meaningful!

Anyway Mrs Tan was giving out little letter writing packs to those who did well in SS and we could choose. They consisted of 4 pieces of writing paper, 4 fake stamps and 2 envelopes. I saw a blue one with a really cute pic of a puppy at the corner and I wanted to take it but somebody booked it before me and I had to let him have that. Still, I didn't really mind. I got a pink one but I don't care about the colour, I only care about the innocent looking pic of a different not-as-cute-but-still-cute puppy at the corner. The stamps that come along are not real stamps, but I intend to make them usable by adding double sided tape at the back. :)

I have taken a sudden interest in the childish glittery hair accessories I used to doll up my hair in. I am currently trying to make a special arrangement with them and will take a pic when I'm done...I will name it the Hairclip Parade. Might even upload it here! This is my second attempt as I did my first attempt on the bed and my dad who was sleeping accidentally knocked down the entire arrangement and he didn't know. Now I am doing the arranging on a sturdy table and it won't go wrong again, I guess.

CIP and an inspriring poem

Hi friends,
I just want to start off by telling you about a classmate who wrote a very inspiring poem that impressed me. I want you to read the poem and guess:

At midnight, it is pitch dark
There is nobody around
Even as I strain my ears
I can hear no sound.
Feeling boredom and emptiness
I wish to be reassured.
Even by the slightest wind,
Or the twitters of a bird.
When suddenly I see it right
A glisten that will heal me
That lights up my empty heart
The only hope it will be
The midnight star regenerates me
With all the wishes deserted
All is well and back to truth
And my true thoughts were heard.
I must thank you, sincerely
Midnight star of my dreams
You stand out in the sooty black
As your silver coat gleams.
Midnight star,
You understand my true feelings
Midnight Star,
You will guide my dreams.

I was extremely impressed. If you want to know, the author is An Yee. You can find more cool stuff on her fantaasy blog.

Anyway, today was the day of the CIP project on-the-spot competition and it was crazy! Everybody was like running up and down the corridor and frenziedly throwing paint and cut-outs onto the recycle bins. I tried drawing hello kitty on the box, and it looked totally different from the original pic I copied...

We finished in time, much to my surprise. Ruijun and I were drawing cutting pasting writing and screaming inside us. Some of our friends were painting and I don't think they had an easy time. But the end product was cool! I admired several artworks that were simply artistic. Judging by the way things are going, mine won't be shortlisted. But I don't quite mind, I have never been good at art.

The theme for my recycling bin was Yu-gi-oh on one side for the boys and Hello Kitty for the girls. LMAO the end product looked kinda weird but I am satisfied. It doesn't look as bad as I thought it would be and I was even kinda pleased.

I realised that I could not enjoy my Wednesday holiday. T_T I have to edit and assign a great pile of articles for the school newsletter and I'm so going to faint. It's due in 2 days time and I have to rush. Argh. Some don't even check their emails?! Plus my father's planned study schedule for tomorrow, looks like I will have a bad day. T_T

Blearrh. B-O-R-I-N-G day

Hi friends,

Firstly, I want you to check out the new hangman game I've added to the blog. Play for fun.

I didn't think there was anything worth blogging about today but since I'm bored, well...? Basically it's been a fruitless day. Not really. We did get our portfolio results back, 24/28!! Yay...been thinking of a 20! I am not sure but I think the higest is full marks...wow! I think is Josiah. Not very sure. Anyway I finally found out who got a full marks, it's Delvin. Blew me off my feet man, that's an impossible (well almost) score!

Science project was a failure as usual...

Chinese lesson chen lao shi actually gave us a chinese paper! Hey, the exams are supposed to be over, what are we doing with another useless one? I wanted to quickly finish and play scrabble with the others cos Nigel brought a Scrabble board! So anyway I was scribbling my work away like plain squiggling. My handwriting was like a bunch of incorrigible weeds sprouting and sprouting. I didn't check my work either and thus some of my answers were not quality ones, but it paid off anyway because I was the first to finish! :)

For CIP I wish I was not stuck with 3B. I'd rather an older more matured class. Now, 3B wants their recycling box covered with Duel Masters and Hello Kitty and I am wondering what I am going to do about that. Surfed the net anyway and found a couple of pics. lol the hello kitty pics were so cute.

Going for sci+math trail on thursday, looking forward to that! Except for insects, especially butterflies. I am against butterflies, they are so ugly and big and worst of all: SCARY. Ugh. But we are having a picnic there and that rocks.

Now I have nothing to say...so I'm going to think of something. If I am boring you, pardon me. You can go post a comment at the cbox or something. If not, read on.

I am so going to die waiting for my report book. I am so excited, I hope that I win a prize for the best in English, I have been pinning my hopes on getting a prize! So disappointing if I don't get it. Ever since I entered GEP my studies kinda dropped and I only have English to pull myself up.

Going to Genting in December...waiting for my well deserved break!

Update on later hours of the day, as I promised...didn't go very well either

Hi friends,

As I promised I am updating on the hours after my theory exam. Mainly, my violin lesson. And yes, it sucked, if you are wondering. Not too long ago I said that the piece I was preparing sounded like a howling cat and a wailing bat drowning in a pile of fresh deep crap. Today, after my teacher drowned me in an avalanche of advice on how I could play better, I realised that it sucked more than I thought. Now, imagine what I used to describe my playing and add the sound of a beheaded chicken trying to swim. Yeah, go on and imagine.

The teacher said that I had a lot of intonation and expression problems.

"No,first note short, then LONG! then get shorter..."
I play...
"NO, you never play the second note longer, its too short!"
Followed by a headless chicken trying to swim squawking...
"NOOO, I told you that the second note must be LONG!"

"That D is out of tune. Try again."
Howling cat and wailing bat drowning in fresh deep crap, nice chocolate brown...
"No, its still out of tune."
Blah blah blah...
"No..."
isudhvfwkethgn;tekjng...
"Still out of tune, must hear the note and remember carefully the position!"

Sigh. Don't get me wrong, she's a good teacher. She was not scolding me but telling me nicely. And her voice was hoarse and hard to hear, so she was like trying to force the words out, thus the exclamation marks. If you are reading this now, (violin teacher), i am thanking you.

Looks like I have a lot to work on now. Sorry if I bored you. If you have time, do see this vid cos it's pretty funny:

Theory exam 2day!! AHH!!!

Hi friends,

Took my Grade 5 theory exam in the morning juz now at MDIS. I finished in 1 hr 30 mins. Very slow I know. Because I realised a darn error and spent my life (okay fine, not my life but 10 minutes of my life??)correcting it. I wasn't nervous or what, I think I can pass. I hope, I mean. Die die must pass or can't take ABRSM violin exam higher grade next year.

I am not very sure what is the most difficult part but I know that I lost 4 marks. They asked us to name two standard orchestral percussion instruments, one with definite pitch and one with indefinite pitch. For the definite pitch one I wrote glockenspiel, which is not a standard orchestral instrument. For indefinite I wrote kettledrum which is a standard orchestral instrument but it has a definite pitch. Very diao, I KNOW. dotz...

I am so gonna hate my paper. Damn. I have to prepare for my violin lesson now, so I'm ending here, will post updates on the later hours of the day if I have time...so bye for now.

Cheers

Yesterday, my Maths. Today, my Science. DARN DAMN DOOM NOOO

Hi friends,

Today's results was a bummer. I totally flunked my Science at a sucking result of 75/100. The highest in TAG4 is, 92!!! Dang. I studied soo hard and I didn't get my desired 80. WAAAHH(If only Blogger would install emoticons!) Thought of the day-never study hard at a subject you are not so good at. Nothing will work. okay fine just joking. Wouldn't be serious about that, cos my Math improved from last year whilst my Science dropped???

The circuit board science project sucks...Our group couldn't decide on a day to stay back and work on it. And we did almost nothing again. I suggested the weekend and was greeted with an immediate uproar of "NO!"s. Well, I was kinda happy about that, I wasn't willing to sacrifice my weekend anyway. I've plenty to load my hands with already.

Anyway, today something crazy happened in class-a friend (will not specify names for fear of getting killed, but you know who by now anyway) accidentally threw a thumbtack on my classmate's chair and that classmate sat right on it! *gasp* He jumped, pulled the thumbtack out and he was like, "Am I bleeding? Am I bleeding?" And I was like, what would happen if he was? Scary...but anyway he wasn't, much to my relief. And then everybody started laughing...

Today we got back our mystery story and I got a 25/40 for the first time in my life, so embarrassing!! But I expected it anyway. I haven't got a flair for writing mystery stories, cos I hate them so much, so difficult to write! A feat beyond my means. Why did it have to be my school work???!!!

There's good news, still. Miss Gillian didn't tell us our compo exam marks, but she did say a couple of names that did well in the exam. I congratulate you, if you are reading this and are one of them.

BTW it's my theory Grade 5 tomorrow! I...AM...SO...SCARED!!!!!!!...Please wish me luck and I will wish you the same.

Gotta go do my chinese zuo wen now...bye for now! Look out for more fun things like the Big Red Button...trying to get more fun stuff to add!

Cheers

NOOO!!! My maths!!!! NOOOOO!!!!

Hi friends,
Today I got back part B of my Maths paper and it SUCKED!!!! Now in total, I have 74/100...And the highest was full marks??!!! I'd love to know who that person is. That's like, 26 marks difference!!! Worse still, I lost marks from carelessness and reading the questions wrongly, so I know that's not the score I deserve! IT'S NOT! I hate my paper...so hate my paper...:( (I wish Blogger can use emoticon leh)

My Maths dropped, my Chinese dropped, WHAT COULD BE WORSE...??? Okay fine I could list a couple of things that are worse :p But you know what I mean.

Darn, not only do I have my horrible results to face, I have a stupid Grade 5 theory paper on Saturday and I still can't memorise my terms and instruments and everything! In other words I am not ready. I might as well go hang myself! Good thing is, I have a couple of pals 2 keep me company, including Ruijun, Yunqi, my neighbour... Wish me luck, will ya?

As if I haven't got enough IvP, exams and projects, I was registered for a Suzuki Level 5 test in December, MY HOLIDAY MONTH!!! Arggh. I so totally stink at that piece, hearing it is equivalent to hearing a howling cat and wailing bat drowning in a pile of fresh deep crap. Or any way u want to describe it.

Here's some good news, class photos were out today! :) Lots of comical, hilarious shots! My fav was a picture of Wilson being strangled by Delvin...*evil laughs* I won't say I looked too good, but passable lah. I loved the shots of hand guns pointed towards a head, Mr Slappy Hands and Mr Pointy Hands bullying chen lao shi, friends crinkling and corrugating their faces into twisted, laughter inducing looks...lol!!

Ending off here, just wanna wish all pupils taking Grade 5 theory on Sat as well as all table tennis team members in their M'sia competition good luck. Enjoy ur trip, Xiamen pupils.

Cheers

And I thought school was over!

Hi Friends,

Just got back my Chinese paper today and it stinks a mile away! I don't believe I lost to the classmates I used to win! I got a horrible 47/60. NOooooo!!! Must buck up liao. Hopefully I can depend on my other common tests to pull me up...

My exams ended officially today with my last exam, YAY!! But school's not over. Boohoo. My science teacher landed a stupid project in our hands and must be finished by TOMORROW in CLASS!!! How on earth is that possible??!! Questions not ready and not discussed...no idea of how the circuit is supposed to be connected...How can like that??!! To make things worse my IvP project is not completed and I am stuck with an awful Tan Kah Kee competition application. Now I wish I joined DI!

At least there's good news...my parents are bringing me to genting for 4 nights in December! Yay!!!!! Looking forward to that. But first, I have to finish my Grade 5 Theory exam and my Suzuki Level 5...wish me luck, will ya?

Exam results back! Whoo!!!

Hi friends,
I just got results for my last English and Part 1 of my Math papers. I was totally hyperventilating while waiting for my English results because I had placed all my hopes on this paper to get me a place on the prize giving podium for English. Well, I still have to consider my oral and compo, but I was sure that this paper would play a big part. Even if I don't get it, at least I am totally satisfied with my marks....thought I was dreaming!

I am revealing my marks now: - English: 89 half/95
- Maths Part 1: 31/40
- SS: 43/50

Yeah!! So happy...and tomorrow's my LAST AND VERY LAST exam - Chinese listening compre, which is totally chickenfeet. And then, I can say that I have survived this year! And then I would be free!!!!!! Well, not really...

Anyway, Mdm Leow told us our CIP duties today and it involves art and a partner. Dang, I so totally suck at art! And now, I am torn between who to be my partner: An Yee or one of my best gal pals: Ruijun/Huiwen/Jamie. Argh. Now what...?? I just hate this my art stinks a mile away!

By the way I discovered this really cute widget and I hope it will entertain you for a while... Let's see how far u can go! This will carry on for eternity...don't believe then try lah! Lets see how smart you are. Clue: No matter what, always click the red buttton and if it disappears find it!
